Palworld May Adopt Live Service Model in Future Updates

在最近接受 ASCII Japan 采访时，水户部卓郎表示，Palworld 的未来走向尚未确定。“当然，我们会更新 Palworld，加入新内容，”他说，Pocketpair 团队计划添加新地图、更多伙伴以及团队首领来保持游戏的新鲜感。“但对于 Palworld 的未来，我们正在考虑两种选择。”
“一种是完成 Palworld，将其作为一次性购买的完整游戏；另一种是将其转变为持续运营游戏（采访中称为 LiveOps），”水户部解释道。一次性购买模式是指玩家只需一次付费即可获得完整游戏内容。而持续运营模式则通常通过持续发布付费内容来盈利。
“从商业角度来看，将 Palworld 转变为持续运营游戏将带来更多盈利机会，并延长游戏寿命。”然而，水户部指出，Palworld 最初并非设计为持续运营游戏，“因此，如果我们选择这条路，肯定会充满挑战。”
另一个需要仔细考虑的方面是 Palworld 作为持续运营游戏对玩家的吸引力。“最重要的是要确定玩家是否想要，”他补充道，“通常情况下，一款游戏必须已经是免费游玩（F2P）才能采用持续运营模式，然后才能添加付费内容，例如皮肤和战斗通行证。但 Palworld 是一款一次性购买游戏（B2P），因此很难将其转变为持续运营游戏。”
他进一步解释说：“有一些游戏成功转型为免费游玩模式的例子，”他提到了《绝地求生》和《Fall Guys》等成功案例，“但这两种游戏都花了数年时间才成功转型。虽然我理解持续运营模式对业务有利，但这并非易事。”
水户部表示，目前 Pocketpair 正在探索增加吸引力和玩家的方法，同时保持现有玩家的满意度。“我们也建议实施广告货币化，但前提是广告货币化很难适应，除非是手机游戏，”他补充道，并指出他不记得 PC 游戏从广告货币化中获益的例子。他还谈到了他对 PC 玩家行为的观察，他说：“即使对 PC 游戏有效，在 Steam 上玩游戏的人也会讨厌广告。很多用户在插入广告时会生气。”
“因此，目前我们正在仔细权衡 Palworld 应该采取的方向，”水户部总结道。目前，Palworld 仍处于抢先体验阶段，最近发布了最大的更新 Sakurajima，并推出了备受期待的 PvP 竞技场模式。
