当时，该项目代号为“Hades”，由少数艺术家和设计师与Mosqueira一起构思了《暗黑破坏神4》的早期版本。这个版本的《暗黑破坏神4》将采用肩上视角，而非传统的等距视角。此外，类似于《蝙蝠侠：阿卡姆》系列，战斗将更加强调动作性和打击感。更有趣的是，如果玩家角色死亡，将面临永久死亡机制，角色将彻底消失。
