"Dead by Daylight Devs Eye The Thing and Cujo as Top Killers"

The *Five Nights at Freddy’s* crossover is finally making its way into *Dead by Daylight*, bringing with it Springtrap and a brand-new pizzeria map. However, Behaviour Interactive isn’t slowing down anytime soon, with a long wishlist of horror icons they’d love to bring into the game’s universe.
During an exclusive chat with IGN, key members of the *Dead by Daylight* team shared their aspirations for future crossovers. While fans are always eager for new Killers and Survivors, some developers have personal favorites they’ve been championing behind the scenes.
Jason Guzzo’s Top Pick: The Thing
Jason Guzzo, Killer Designer and self-proclaimed horror buff, has played a major role in integrating iconic villains like Chucky, Dracula, and now Springtrap into the Entity’s world. Despite his success with existing crossovers, there’s one franchise he's relentlessly pushing to bring into the fold: The Thing.
“I have been here for two and a half years, and I have been on a crusade to figure out how to get The Thing into *Dead by Daylight*,”
Guzzo explained. Although he admits that no official talks are currently underway, his passion for the cult classic runs deep:
“As far as I know, it’s not something that is being discussed above me, but my dream – and probably my favorite horror movie – is the obvious one: The Thing. I would love to get The Thing into *Dead by Daylight*.”
While he concedes that adapting such a unique and shape-shifting antagonist could pose significant design challenges, Guzzo remains hopeful that one day, this vision will become a reality.

Creative Director Dave Richard Shares His Dream Roster
For Creative Director Dave Richard, the idea of expanding *Dead by Daylight* with legendary horror figures is nothing new. While names like Pennywise naturally come up as ideal candidates, Richard envisions a much broader horizon:
“There are other kings of horror that would be amazing to have. You could guess any one of them—I’m thinking. Frankly, I just want to collect them all.”
Beyond the usual suspects, the team has even floated more unconventional ideas—some serious, others more tongue-in-cheek. One surprising suggestion? Stephen King’s Cujo, the rabid canine terror from the 1983 film adaptation.
Though a dog-based Killer might seem out of place in a roster dominated by human antagonists like Ghost Face and Michael Myers, Richard believes anything is possible with the right creative approach. He also mentioned another unusual King classic—Christine, the killer car—as a concept worth exploring, though designing a sentient vehicle as a playable Killer would certainly be a challenge.
What’s Next for *Dead by Daylight*?
With the *Five Nights at Freddy’s* Chapter launching June 17, *Dead by Daylight* continues to evolve and expand across genres and franchises. As the game approaches its ninth anniversary, the team at Behaviour shows no signs of running out of inspiration—or ambition.
