The overwhelmingly positive response to the Silent Hill 2 remake has been a significant boost for Bloober Team. Despite the numerous changes from the original, fans embraced the remake, a testament to the team's hard work. However, Bloober Team acknowledges the initial skepticism and aims to use this success to dispel any lingering doubts.

Their next horror title, Cronos: The New Dawn, revealed at the Xbox Partner Preview on October 16th, marks a deliberate departure from the Silent Hill 2 style. Game Designer Wojciech Piejko emphasized this point in a Gamespot interview, stating, "We don't want to make a similar game." Development on Cronos began in 2021, shortly after The Medium's release.

Director Jacek Zieba described Cronos: The New Dawn as their "second punch" in a two-hit combo, with the Silent Hill 2 remake being the "first." He highlighted the initial disbelief surrounding their involvement in the Silent Hill project, given their previous work. Zieba stated, "Nobody believed we could deliver, and we delivered. That was a big honor." The team's perseverance paid off, resulting in an 86 Metacritic score. Piejko added, "They made the impossible possible, and it was a bumpy road because of all the hate on the internet."

Bloober Team views Cronos: The New Dawn, a time-travel narrative centered around "The Traveler," as a demonstration of their ability to create compelling original IPs. The game features travel between past and future to save individuals and alter a dystopian future ravaged by pandemic and mutants.

Building on the lessons learned from the Silent Hill 2 remake, Bloober Team aims to improve upon their previous titles, Layers of Fear and Observer, which had less extensive gameplay. Zieba noted that the foundation for Cronos benefited from the experience gained during the Silent Hill project.

The Silent Hill 2 remake is considered the launchpad for "Bloober Team 3.0," representing a significant evolution for the studio. Encouraged by the positive response to the Cronos reveal trailer and the Silent Hill 2 remake, Piejko and Zieba are confident in their future. Zieba aims to establish Bloober Team firmly within the horror genre, stating, "We want to find our niche, and we think we found our niche." Piejko added, "We gathered a team that loves horror...and we don't want to [switch genres]."
