Kitase reassured fans, stating, "No, you can rest assured about the next one (FF7 Remake Part 3)."

As the PS5 continues through its lifecycle, there's speculation about the trilogy potentially transitioning to the PS6. However, details about the PS6 remain scarce at this point.

FF7 Remake Part 3 Release Date

Square Enix has kept the release date of FF7 Remake Part 3 under wraps, but development has been progressing steadily. According to reports, work on the third installment began concurrently with Part 2, with full production accelerating after the release of FF7 Rebirth in February 2024. Thanks to reusable assets and a completed story draft, the final chapter might be closer than fans think.

In an interview with Famitsu on January 23, 2025, Hamaguchi provided an update on the development, saying, "It’s going very well. We started working on the third game right after FFVII Rebirth ended, and we have a build that will confirm what we should aim for as a game by the end of 2024. We can already see the direction of where we will land, so we have been working towards that goal since the beginning of this year. We are progressing without any delay from the schedule we planned when we launched the remake project, so we hope you will look forward to it."

Kitase also shared his satisfaction with the story's conclusion, stating, "At least I'm very satisfied with it, so I'm sure it will be a conclusion that will satisfy the fans as well."

FF7 Remake Part 3 Will Allegedly Be a Timed Exclusive Game

While the exact release date remains undisclosed, a report from the Washington Post on March 6, 2024, indicated that PlayStation secured timed exclusivity for the FF7 Remake trilogy. This means the games will be available only on PS consoles for a limited period before expanding to other platforms.
