Divinity: Original Sin 2 - How to Get to Bloodmoon Island
Quick Links
Bloodmoon Island, a mysterious location northeast of Cloisterwood on Reaper's Coast, is shrouded in Deathfog, its connecting bridge destroyed. Reaching it is crucial for advancing the main storyline and accessing side quests. The game offers little guidance, so here's how to overcome this obstacle in Divinity: Original Sin 2.
Spirit Vision Shows the Way

The seemingly impassable bridge, once connecting Bloodmoon Island to the mainland, now presents a challenge. Using Spirit Vision reveals the broken segments. Overcoming this requires:
Gloves of Teleportation: Acquired early in Act 1, these allow teleportation without needing the skill, enabling you to move each party member individually.
Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat provide teleportation abilities. However, not all companions possess these.
Teleporter Pyramids: Two pyramids are needed. Have a companion with a translocation skill carry one, cross the bridge, then use the second to teleport the rest of the party.
Fast Travel: After a companion with a translocation skill reaches Bloodmoon Island and discovers the waypoint, the rest of the party can fast travel.
Take the Ferry Across the Deathfog

An alternative, available if Fane is in your party, involves a ferryman northwest of Cloisterwood. Fane's undead nature makes him immune to the Deathfog. The ferryman's offer is a trick; only Fane survives the crossing. He can then discover the waypoint, allowing the rest of the party to fast travel.
Taking the Ferry Without Fane in the Party
If Fane isn't in your party, two Teleporter Pyramids are necessary:
- Unchain your party, and equip a Teleporter Pyramid on a companion.
- Send that companion across via the ferry; they will die upon arrival.
- Use the second pyramid to teleport the rest of the party to the dead companion.
- Revive the companion using a resurrection spell or scroll.
Without Fane, using the bridge (with Spirit Vision) is generally faster.
Avoid attacking the ferryman unless you've saved your game. He retaliates with Deathfog. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP.
