The much-anticipated action game, Lost Soul Aside, has been delayed by three months, pushing its release date from May 30 to August 29, 2025, as announced by developer Ultizero Games. Initially slated to launch next month after nearly a decade of development, the PC and PlayStation 5 single-player title will now see additional polish before hitting the shelves.

"We are truly grateful for the positive response we've received from players all over the world since we announced Lost Soul Aside," Ultizero Games stated. "We remain committed to delivering a high-quality game experience. To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we are going to take some additional time to polish the game. Lost Soul Aside will now release on August 29, 2025. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our fans waiting for the launch."

Originally the passion project of solo developer Yang Bing, Lost Soul Aside has evolved into a major Sony-published title under the company's China Hero Project. Bing, now the founder and CEO of the Shanghai-based studio Ultizero Games, has seen his vision grow from a solo endeavor to a highly anticipated release.

IGN recently had the privilege of interviewing Yang Bing to discuss the lengthy journey to launch. From a solo creator's vision to a trailer reveal at Sony's State of Play broadcast, the hype for Lost Soul Aside has been building steadily. Many fans are excited about the game's blend of Final Fantasy characters and Devil May Cry combat, a buzz that started when Bing's initial reveal video went viral back in 2016.

The protagonist, Kesar, wields a versatile, shape-shifting weapon that allows players to switch playstyles, enhancing the gameplay experience. Alongside Kesar is a dragon-like companion named Arena, who can summon abilities to aid in battles. Like its inspirations, Lost Soul Aside focuses on aerial dodging, precise timing, combos, and counterattacks, all culminating in epic boss fights. The game's sci-fi narrative spans multiple dimensions, incorporating a variety of contemporary aesthetics. While the trailers offer glimpses of the story, Bing describes Kesar's journey as one of "redemption and discovery."
