Misty Island: A Comprehensive Guide to Jak and Daxter's Mysterious Isle

Misty Island, a location shrouded in mystery in the early stages of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, holds a significant place in the game's narrative. It's the site of Daxter's unfortunate transformation, making a return understandably daunting for Jak and his transformed friend. However, this island harbors numerous secrets and rewards for those brave enough to face its challenges. This guide will walk you through acquiring all the Power Cells and Scout Flies on Misty Island.

Accessing Misty Island

Before setting foot on Misty Island, you must assist the fisherman in the Forbidden Jungle by catching 200 pounds of fish. This task rewards you with a Power Cell and access to the Speedboat in Sandover Village, your transportation to Misty Island.

The Sculptor's Muse

Your initial objective on Misty Island is to recover the Sculptor's Lost Muse, a golden creature resembling Daxter. Located near the docks, the Muse is quite elusive. You'll need to chase it, utilizing roll jumps to keep pace and strategically cut it off during its turns. Breaking large bones along its path creates bridges, aiding your pursuit. Once captured, return the Muse to the Sculptor in Sandover Village for another Power Cell (save this for later).

Blue Eco and the Precursor Platform

After retrieving the Muse, proceed to the right from your starting point. You'll encounter a platforming section with blue eco orbs leading to a Precursor Door (ignore it for now). Collect the blue eco and proceed to the Precursor Platform (see image 3). Charging the platform with blue eco allows you to cross the gap and obtain a Power Cell.

Conquering the Lurker Arena

To reach the next Power Cell, return to the Dark Eco Pool, but first, you'll face a challenging arena battle. Charge with blue eco and enter the Precursor Door. Waves of Lurkers will attack, launching explosive projectiles. Utilize the red eco dropped by the Lurkers to your advantage and maintain mobility to avoid the explosives. Victory reveals a staircase leading to the Dark Eco Pool and the Power Cell.

Scaling the Lurker Ship

Exiting the arena and turning right leads to Misty Island's Bay and a Lurker Ship, accessible via a bridge. Climb the ship's right side to reach the top and claim another Power Cell.

Disabling the Cannon

Ascend the ramp, dodging logs thrown by Lurkers. Jump over rolling logs and duck under bouncing ones, utilizing side platforms for respite. At the top, defeat the two Lurkers guarding the cannon to obtain a Power Cell. Use the cannon to destroy metal boxes in the arena below to collect Precursor Orbs.

Defeating the Balloon Lurkers

Use the Zoomer (located near the Lurker Ship via the opposite bridge) to eliminate the Balloon Lurkers patrolling the bay. Carefully navigate the mines while using the Zoomer's hop for sharp turns. Approach balloons from the side to avoid the mines. Defeating five Balloon Lurkers rewards you with a Power Cell.

Zoomer Power Cell

Using the Zoomer, ascend the ramp (as shown in image 1), turn right, and navigate around the rock (image 2). Accelerate towards the edge, hopping just before launching to collect Precursor Orbs and a Power Cell.

Collecting the Scout Flies

Seven Scout Flies are hidden across Misty Island. The first is accessible during the Muse chase; use a seesaw and ground pound to reach the clifftop. Two more are located near the arena door (image provided shows the crumbling path and gap). Another is found to the left after exiting the arena (use a seesaw). Two more are on the Lurker Ship and one along the log-strewn ramp. The final Scout Fly is near the top of the Zoomer ramp.

Once you've collected all the Power Cells and Scout Flies, return the Sculptor's Muse to complete your Misty Island adventure.
