Jack Quaid Wants Bioshock Role, Fans See Max Payne in Novocaine
The Boys star Jack Quaid has expressed his excitement over the possibility of appearing in a BioShock movie, revealing that the beloved first-person shooter series is among his favorite games. During a Reddit AMA coinciding with the release of his latest film, Novocaine, Quaid emphasized the rich lore of BioShock, stating that it offers immense potential for exploration in both television and cinematic adaptations.
"I would absolutely love to be part of a live-action BioShock adaptation—it’s one of my all-time favorite games," Quaid shared. "There’s so much depth to its storyline that could make for an incredible movie or TV series."
However, the future of the BioShock film remains uncertain. Last year, producer Roy Lee mentioned that following leadership changes at Netflix, the project underwent significant adjustments due to budget constraints. While some details about the revised concept remain undisclosed, it is expected to adopt a more intimate perspective compared to earlier plans.
Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence remains attached to helm the project. Despite these developments, the specifics regarding the movie’s setting and narrative are yet to be announced.
Quaid’s remarks on BioShock come amidst speculation surrounding his likeness to video game icon Max Payne, whose appearance was inspired by Remedy writer Sam Lake. Fans have noted striking similarities between Quaid and Payne, particularly in images from Novocaine. Interestingly, Quaid confessed unfamiliarity with the Max Payne franchise, though he expressed admiration for Rockstar Games.
Beyond BioShock, Quaid has developed a deep affection for FromSoftware titles. He discussed his enthusiasm for challenging games like Bloodborne and Elden Ring during the AMA, highlighting their difficulty as a key draw. Quaid admitted to frequently seeking advice on overcoming FromSoftware boss battles through Reddit forums, underscoring his growing passion for these demanding yet rewarding experiences.
