Genshin Impact 5.5: Android Controller Support Added

If you're a Genshin Impact player on Android, get ready for some exciting news—controller support is finally coming to your device with Version 5.5. That’s right, after years of waiting (and seeing iOS players enjoy it since 2021), Android users can soon ditch the touchscreen and play with a real controller for smoother, more immersive combat and exploration.

When Will Genshin Impact Get Controller Support on Android?

Starting March 26th, 2025, Android players will be able to connect compatible Bluetooth controllers directly to their devices. The official launch will support four popular models:

DualShock 4
DualSense
Xbox Wireless Controller
Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2

All require Bluetooth connectivity—so make sure your device supports it and your controller is fully charged.

This update isn’t just about controllers. Version 5.5 brings several quality-of-life improvements designed to enhance your overall experience:

Cross-scene quest tracking: Now you can follow active quests across different regions without confusion—just open the map, select your target location, and teleport instantly.
Improved boss guides: New players will find enemy mechanics easier to understand thanks to updated in-game tutorials and visual cues.
System optimizations: Expect smoother performance in the Artifact interface, Serenitea Pot customization, and Mail system—all refined for better usability.
