Fallout 76 Ghoul Update Details

Fallout 76 Season 20: Embrace the Ghoul Within!
Fallout 76's latest update, "The Ghoul Within," lets you experience Appalachia from a whole new perspective – as a ghoul! This exciting Season 20 update, launched March 18th, introduces ghoul-themed features, mechanics, and cosmetics to revamp your C.A.M.P. and gameplay.
Become a Ghoul
The "Leap of Faith" questline unlocks Ghoulification, transporting you to a new area of the Savage Divide where you'll meet key characters and undergo your transformation. As a ghoul, you'll gain unique abilities:
- Glow: Consume radiation, become immune to diseases and mutations, and even glow! This ability boosts your maximum health, heals damage, and contributes to "Gherks" – ghoul-exclusive perks.
- Feral: This replaces hunger and thirst, offering stat boosts based on your Feral meter. A depleted meter (0%) grants a massive +150% melee damage bonus, but at the cost of significant reductions to Endurance, Charisma, HP, AP, and accuracy.
Thirty new Gherks await, including two legendary perks. Note that perks related to hunger, thirst, and chemical resistance are unavailable to ghouls.
Ghoul Life in Appalachia
Exploring the irradiated wasteland is easier as a ghoul, thanks to your new abilities and perks. However, factions like the Brotherhood of Steel will be hostile, potentially blocking certain questlines. Luckily, a new NPC, Jaye, provides disguises to overcome these restrictions.
Should you tire of ghoul life, you can revert to human form via the Character Screen. This is a one-way trip; you can't repeat the "Leap of Faith" quest. Instead, Ghoul Retransformation is available for 1000 Atoms.
Level 50 Character Boost & Patch Notes
Season 20 also includes a Level 50 Character Boost (1500 Atoms), ideal for new and veteran players. This boost provides perks and advantages to immediately jump into Daily Ops, Public Events, and story content.
The patch also features bug fixes, balance adjustments (including combat balancing and weapon damage changes), and accessibility improvements. Bethesda also teased the upcoming "The Big Bloom" update, scheduled for April 29th.
Fallout 76's Journey
Released in November 2018, Fallout 76 has undergone significant improvements. With consistent updates, it now boasts a "Mostly Positive" rating on Steam (76% positive reviews). Experience the game on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
