Roblox developer Kitawari has unveiled the Anime Vanguards Winter Update 3.0, introducing extensive changes to the tower-defense game's unit lineup and lobby, alongside a host of quality-of-life improvements. This latest update promises to extend the holiday cheer with a wealth of winter-themed content that should keep players engaged for weeks. The most striking change is immediately apparent upon logging in: the lobby has undergone a complete overhaul, providing anime enthusiasts with more space to kick off their sessions. Accompanying this is a revamped user interface, including a "much better and cleaner" stage selection UI, as described by the development team.

"We heard your issues with our current lobby; it was too small and cramped, and we were running out of places to put new game modes," Kitawari stated in the Winter Update 3.0 patch notes. "Get ready for our stunning new lobby – 10x more impressive than anything you’ve seen, featuring a customizable Day and Night cycle which you can check out in Settings!"

A significant highlight of the Anime Vanguards Winter Update 3.0 is the introduction of a new game mode: Portals. Kitawari encourages players to utilize winter units and skins to boost team damage and unlock additional rewards while exploring this mode. Additionally, Sandbox Mode offers players the freedom to experiment with new strategies without limitations. Players can look forward to collecting 12 new units available through various channels, including the new Winter Banner, Portals game mode, battle pass, and new leaderboard rewards.

Kitawari has also implemented several quality-of-life enhancements to streamline the gaming experience. These include smoother unit placement movements and Evolution Quests now appearing in a dedicated special tab. Both skins and familiar windows now feature search bars, and units more clearly indicate which enemy they are targeting. When spectating a unit, you can now choose between Default, First Person, Third Person, and Top-Down views. The spectate interface now also indicates which unit you’re observing.

NEW! Health Stocks

The currency-based health system has been replaced with base stocks. Instead of 150 health, you now start with 3 stocks per stage. One enemy reaching the base deducts 1 stock, and losing all stocks results in a match loss. Bosses will instantly deplete all stocks upon reaching the base.

NEW! The Hidden Gateway awakens…

The mysterious portal item, obtainable as a Floor 50 reward in Worldlines, has finally revealed its purpose! Use it to open a gateway to a hidden challenge – will you uncover the Secret hidden within?
