Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves 2.0: A Comprehensive Guide

Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord residing in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to overcome this formidable foe.

Locating the Lifer

The Lifer awaits at Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. An accessible entrance lies southwest, near the Resonance Beacon. Players can climb or use the Flight function to reach it.

Mastering the Lifer's Board Game

Inside, you'll find the Lifer and a six-piece board game. Control the black pieces to connect three in a row before the Lifer (white pieces). Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens maze walls/gates in that direction. You can exit and resume the game at any time. While not mandatory for combat, winning the board game is crucial for removing the Lifer's buffs (though avoid winning before removing buffs).

Removing the Lifer's Buffs

The Lifer boasts seven buffs; four are removable using the Stake of Imbalance, while three are permanent. A yellow module behind the Lifer displays these buffs.

Removable Buffs (reduce fragility):

• Growing Loneliness: HP recovery after 2s of inactivity.
• Desire for Escape: Increased ATK and DMG over time.
• Impending Stalemate: Stacking ATK increase with each hit (resets after 6s without dealing damage).
• Decay of Time: Massive elemental resistance and increased Max HP.

Permanent Buffs (inherent stability):

• Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
• Endless Game: Reduced Immobilization duration.
• Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after taking significant damage.

Use the Sensor tool near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to Stake of Imbalance locations in outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the gates to these rooms. Each room holds a glowing white Stake of Imbalance (one requires Tacet Discord defeat, one involves breaking rocks, and one is simply on a table). Place each Stake in the module near the corresponding winged statue to remove a buff. The purple line will turn yellow once a buff is removed.

Defeating the Lifer

After removing the four removable buffs, engage the Lifer (via the board game or by choosing "Fight it out!"). The debuffed Lifer is significantly weaker. Its attacks (punch, grab, spin) pose minimal threat.

Rewards for defeating the Lifer:

• First Victory: Premium Supply Chest
• Second Victory: Premium Supply Chest + 3 Basic Supply Chests
• Third Victory: Advanced Supply Chest + 3 Standard Supply Chests

You can re-enable buffs for a greater challenge, but no achievements are tied to this.

Lifer Achievements

• The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
• The Ring of The Lifer: Defeat the Lifer three times for all nine chests.
• Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game.
• Alpha Go: Lose the board game 10 times.

For the board game, focus on blocking the Lifer's moves. It will eventually make a mistake.
