Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can now enjoy a new feature: streaming select games directly to their consoles without downloading.

An Xbox Wire post today revealed that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can stream titles from the Game Pass library and certain owned games on Xbox Series X, Series S, and Xbox One consoles using cloud technology.

Previously available on smart TVs, PCs, smartphones, and Meta Quest headsets, this marks the first time cloud streaming is offered on consoles. This feature saves time and conserves valuable storage space by eliminating the need to download games.

Xbox provides the following steps to access this feature:

From your Xbox console, navigate to My games & apps > Full library > Owned Games.

Additionally, users can stream installed Xbox console games on devices with supported web browsers via this link. According to Xbox, this feature is no longer supported on the Xbox mobile app but remains accessible on phones through the browser link. Xbox is also working to extend this functionality to Samsung and Amazon Fire smart TVs and Meta Quest headsets.

Starting this month, Xbox and Xbox 360 backward compatible games will also support remote play, Xbox announced.
