Wuthering Waves' elemental system has undergone significant changes in Version 2.0, particularly with the introduction of Elemental Effects. Previously, elements primarily provided buffs or influenced enemy resistances. Now, characters can apply and benefit from these effects, leading to more direct interactions.

Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs:

While elemental effects existed before, Version 2.0 makes them more prominent. Each element has a unique status effect:

Dodging removes all effect stacks.

Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets:

Currently, the utilization of Elemental Effects is limited. Only a few Resonators, Echoes, and Echo sets interact with them:

• Resonators: Spectro Rover is the only Resonator currently capable of applying Elemental Effects (Spectro Frazzle), achieved through its Resonating Spin skill. This skill also applies a Shimmer effect, preventing stack decay.

• Echoes and Echo Sets: The Eternal Radiance Echo Set (2pc: +10% Spectro DMG; 5pc: Increased Crit. Rate with Spectro Frazzle, additional Spectro DMG bonus at 10 stacks) and the Nightmare Echo (increased Spectro DMG against enemies with Spectro Frazzle) are currently the only ones that directly benefit from Elemental Effects, primarily supporting Spectro Rover.

While the system is currently niche, it suggests a potential future shift towards more active use of Elemental Effects in Wuthering Waves.
