World of Warcraft's Plunderstorm Event Delayed

Due to unforeseen technical difficulties, the highly anticipated return of World of Warcraft's Plunderstorm event has been postponed. While Blizzard initially aimed for a January 14th, 2025 launch, no new release time has been announced.

Plunderstorm, a popular pirate-themed battle royale mode introduced during the Dragonflight expansion in 2024, was set to return with both original and new rewards. However, unexpected issues arose during the planned server maintenance, resulting in a delay beyond the extended eight-hour downtime.

Plunderstorm Launch Window:

• Currently slated for sometime before the end of January 14th, 2025, pending resolution of the unforeseen issues.

While players await Plunderstorm's return, they can still enjoy other in-game activities such as completing Siren Isle weeklies or participating in the Turbulent Timeways event.

The delay may be related to new features in this iteration of Plunderstorm, including the Plunderstore and an in-game event interface. Blizzard is working to resolve these issues swiftly.

Despite the delay, the Plunderstorm Twitch Drops are still active. Viewers can earn the Coward’s Azure Target transmog by watching four hours of any World of Warcraft Twitch stream before February 4th at 10 AM PST. This provides players with a way to engage with the community and earn a reward while waiting for the game mode's return.
