In Ivy Road and Annapurna Interactive’s Wanderstop, players guide Alta, a weary warrior, as she runs a charming tea shop in an enchanted forest, embracing rest and healing. The shop draws diverse patrons with unique orders, including coffee, which isn’t typically on the menu. Here’s how to unlock and brew coffee in Wanderstop.

Who Requests Coffee in Wanderstop?

During Wanderstop‘s fourth cycle, a graceful humanoid bird visits the shop, ordering a refined cup of tea. After Alta serves it, three businessmen—Jerry, Larry, and Terry—arrive, dressed in suits and carrying briefcases, all headed to a boardroom meeting for a presentation.

Alta informs the businessmen, who look nearly identical, that they’re far from their destination. When offered tea, they decline, insisting on coffee. Despite learning the shop doesn’t serve coffee, they choose to stay until it’s available.

Boro, the tea shop’s owner, notes that coffee has never grown in the forest. Initially, it seems Alta can’t fulfill the businessmen’s request, causing frustration. Then, Zenith, an interdimensional traveler, arrives, pursuing the businessmen and altering the situation.

Zenith is captivated by the businessmen, finding them intriguing, though Alta is puzzled by this. Unlike them, Zenith accepts Alta’s offer of tea, having only experienced coffee as a hot-brewed beverage, making tea a novel experience.

Unlocking Coffee Beans in Wanderstop

Craft a unique tea for Zenith by adding a special item, such as a book, trinket, mug, small plant, or photograph, to the brew. After tasting it, Zenith asks about the difference between tea and coffee and what’s needed to brew coffee for the businessmen. Alta’s response—“coffee beans”—sparks a breakthrough for Zenith.

Using the Infinite Path, Zenith introduces coffee beans to the forest, enabling them to grow in the clearing. They add harvesting and brewing instructions to Alta’s Field Guide.

Harvesting and Brewing Coffee in Wanderstop

Once Zenith summons them, coffee beans grow randomly in the clearing and respawn over time. Collect them like fruits or seeds, storing them in your ingredients pocket if space allows or carrying one at a time. You can place them on shelves, tables, or the ground.

Since coffee beans are dirty, clean them in the dishwasher and wait for the dish trains to deliver them to the tea room.

Fill the tea maker with water and heat it (or not, based on the order), then activate the gear to pour water into the infuser. Use one coffee bean per brew, though some orders may include extra beans or ingredients. Activate the gear again to pour the brew into the kettle, then serve it in mugs to customers, Boro, or Alta.

Serving coffee satisfies the businessmen, delights Zenith, and adds a new option for other patrons. Even Boro tries it, though he’s not a fan.
