The acclaimed French studio Don't Nod, known for their work on *Life is Strange*, has just released the first chapter of their latest narrative-driven adventure. Players can now immerse themselves in *Tape 1*, with *Tape 2* set to be available for free to all buyers starting April 15.
First announced in 2023, the game delves into the heart-wrenching story of a tight-knit group of friends who were mysteriously separated during the summer of 1995. Fast forward 27 years, and the specters of that fateful summer reemerge, unleashing chilling repercussions that none of them could have anticipated.
Crafted with inspiration from classics like *It*, *Yellowjackets*, and *I Know What You Did Last Summer*, this game artfully weaves together elements of nostalgia and psychological suspense. The developers have decided to divide the game into two distinct parts, named *Bloom* and *Rage*. As of today, February 18, players can experience the first installment of this gripping narrative.
The eagerly awaited second part, dubbed "The Tape," is scheduled for release on April 15. Initially planned for a March launch, the delay was implemented to guarantee a more refined gaming experience.
With the review embargo now lifted, *OpenCritic* has reported an average critic score of 74/100, signaling a promising beginning for this enthralling mystery.
