Vinland Tales: A New Isometric Survival Game from Colossi Games

Colossi Games, creators of Gladiators: Survival in Rome and Daisho: Survival of a Samurai, have launched their latest casual survival title, Vinland Tales. This new game transports players to the frigid north, where they assume the role of a Viking chieftain establishing a colony in an uncharted land.

Familiar elements for fans of Colossi's previous work are present: an isometric viewpoint, low-poly visuals, and approachable survival mechanics. The core gameplay loop revolves around colony building, clan management, and resource gathering.

Beyond the core mechanics, Vinland Tales offers a wealth of additional features, including minigames, guilds, skill trees, quests, and dungeons. Cooperative multiplayer is also available, allowing players to team up with friends.

A Rapid Release Cycle?

One potential concern is Colossi Games' rapid release schedule. While their ambition to explore diverse settings and historical periods is commendable, the question remains whether this approach compromises depth. The success of Vinland Tales hinges on whether it can carve out a unique niche or if it feels too shallow.
