SoMoGa Inc. has released a modernized version of Vay for Android, iOS, and Steam. Vay, a classic 16-bit RPG, returns with enhanced graphics, a redesigned interface, and controller support.

Originally launched in Japan in 1993 on the Sega CD (developed by Hertz and localized by Working Designs), Vay received an iOS re-release by SoMoGa in 2008. This new version builds upon that legacy.

What's New in the Revamped Vay?

This updated Vay boasts over 100 enemies, a dozen challenging bosses, and exploration across 90 diverse areas. A standout feature is its adjustable difficulty settings. The inclusion of an auto-save function and Bluetooth controller support enhances playability. Players can acquire new equipment and items, learn new spells through character leveling, and even utilize an AI system for autonomous character combat.

The Story

The game unfolds in a distant galaxy, scarred by a millennia-long interstellar war. A powerful, malfunctioning machine crashed on the technologically underdeveloped planet Vay, causing widespread destruction.

Players embark on a quest to rescue their abducted wife, a mission that could determine the fate of the world. The peaceful wedding day turns into a desperate fight for survival as the bride is kidnapped, setting the stage for an epic journey to confront the destructive war machines.

Vay's narrative is captivating, blending classic JRPG elements with modern enhancements. Character progression through experience and gold gained in random encounters remains true to its roots. The game features almost ten minutes of animated cutscenes with English and Japanese audio options.
