The highly anticipated sequel, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, has encountered yet another delay, pushing its release to October 2025. This latest update, shared by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room through a recent game update video, marks a slight shift from the previously planned release in the first half of the year. Despite the delay, there's a silver lining: the game is now complete, with the team focusing on polishing it through bug fixing, stability, and performance enhancements.

Executive Producer Marco Behrmann confirmed, "The status of the game right now is that the game is done. We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases." This news, while another disappointment in a series of delays that have plagued the game since its announcement, comes with assurances of improved content, narrative depth, and character development. Notably, the character Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the storyline upon release.

Despite the ongoing updates through dev diaries, the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page has announced that future updates will be less frequent. The game's journey has been fraught with challenges, starting with its initial reveal in 2019 by developer Hardsuit Labs, which set a launch target for Q1 2020. Subsequent delays pushed the release to late 2020, then to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit. The development baton was eventually passed to The Chinese Room in 2023, aiming for a 2024 release, which has now been deferred to October 2025.

While the repeated delays cast uncertainty over the game's final release, The Chinese Room remains optimistic. Looking ahead, Paradox has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful launch, "someone else" might take on the development of a potential Bloodlines 3.
