Titled "The Days Have Worn Away," this seventh installment marks the 29th comic release overall, including special events and themed stories. The release is particularly significant, as it follows a seven-year hiatus since the last comic in 2017.

Valve playfully acknowledged the lengthy wait, likening the comic's creation to the building of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. They humorously pointed out that while the tower's builders didn't live to see its completion, TF2 players only endured a "mere" seven years.
