Mask Around: A Gooey Sequel That Packs a Punch

Mask Around, the sequel to 2020's quirky roguelike platformer Mask Up, is now available on Google Play. This time around, prepare for a blend of run-and-gun action and close-quarters brawling. The signature yellow ooze returns, but with some intriguing new gameplay twists.

For those unfamiliar with the original, Mask Up was a unique experience where players evolved from a simple puddle of yellow goo into a powerful, gooey warrior. Mask Around builds upon this foundation, adding 2D shooting mechanics to the mix. Players can seamlessly switch between ranged combat and the close-combat goo abilities of its predecessor.

Resource management remains crucial. The precious yellow ooze is still in limited supply, demanding strategic use, especially during challenging boss encounters.

More Than Just Goo

Mask Around represents a significant evolution from its predecessor. It retains the core gameplay of Mask Up but expands upon it considerably. The strategic use of the ooze is now balanced against the use of weapons, adding a new layer of depth. The visuals have also received a noticeable polish.

While an iOS release hasn't been announced, Android users can download Mask Around now from Google Play. Even without having played the original, the sequel appears to be a substantial improvement, offering a more refined and engaging experience.
