Trump's Tariffs Disrupt PC Hardware Sales: Razer Blade 16 Pulled from U.S. Market
President Trump's import tariffs are hitting U.S. gamers hard, with Razer's Blade 16 gaming laptop now unavailable.
Tariffs, taxes on imported goods, often raise consumer prices as companies pass on costs. Gamers face higher tech and gaming product prices.
Some products are being temporarily withdrawn from sale. The Verge noted the Blade 16, listed for U.S. sale until April 1, is no longer available on Razer's website.
European gamers can order the new Blade 16 (if in stock, unavailable in the UK), but the U.S. site only offers a "Notify Me" option with no pricing. The Buy Now page leads to a 404 error.
Razer isn't alone in pausing sales. Tariffs on China and Taiwan, key PC component hubs, impact firms like Micron, which warned of surcharges, and Framework, which "temporarily paused" some U.S. sales.
Last week, the Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order date, set for April 9, was canceled in the U.S. after tariffs caused market turmoil. Nintendo Canada also delayed pre-orders.
Nintendo fans and analysts worry the Switch 2 and its games may see further price hikes, amplifying backlash over pricing since the console’s reveal.
