"Tribe Nine Ends EOS Support Shortly After Global Launch"

May 21,25(3 months ago)

Akatsuki Games has recently announced the end of service (EOS) for their latest game, Tribe Nine, which might come as a shock to many. Launched just a few months ago in February on Android, iOS, and PC (Steam), the game's life seems to be cut short. What could be causing its premature end? Let's delve deeper into the situation.

When Is the Tribe Nine EOS?

Tribe Nine is set to officially shut down on November 27th, 2025. Alongside this disheartening news, Akatsuki Games has also confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not see the light of day. This is particularly disappointing as the game had just started teasing what was to come next. As of May 15th, all new updates, features, bug fixes, and content releases have been canceled. This means any previously mentioned in-game adjustments or new features are now off the table.

Two eagerly anticipated characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, who were slated to join the roster, will no longer be added. Furthermore, refunds will be issued for Paid Enigma Entities used on items like Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio. These refunds will be processed once the Revenio contract concludes.

It's also worth noting that you can no longer purchase Enigma Entities or Daily Passes, whether through the app or the web store. However, you can continue using the Enigma Entities you already possess until Tribe Nine's official shutdown.

Why Did It Fail, So Soon?

Tribe Nine is a free-to-play extreme action RPG known for its unique style and compelling worldbuilding. While the game itself is enjoyable, it faced significant challenges from the outset. The release schedule was notably slow, with only one story chapter and one event released in the first three months. Additionally, there was little incentive for players to spend money, as a strong team could be built with just one pull, and duplicates weren't necessary. This was beneficial for players but detrimental to the developers' revenue.

It seems that opting for a gacha model was a risky move for Tribe Nine, and unfortunately, it did not yield the desired results. Despite its impending closure, the game remains playable until November 27th, 2025. If you haven't tried it yet, you can still check it out on the Google Play Store.
