Top Redwing Deck Strategies for Marvel Snap

In the vibrant world of *Marvel Snap*, the addition of Falcon's pet, Redwing, brings a new feathered friend to the game during the Brave New World season. Redwing joins a small but cherished group of animal companions, including Cosmo, Groose, Zabu, and Hit Monkey, enhancing the game's diverse roster.

How Redwing Works in Marvel Snap

Redwing is a 3-cost card with 4 power, and its ability states: "The first time this moves, add a card from your hand to the old location." However, there are important nuances to consider. Redwing can only be activated once per game, limiting its strategic applications. Even attempts to reuse it with cards like Symbiote Spider-Man or by bouncing it back to your hand won't reset its ability. Additionally, precisely targeting a card with Redwing can be challenging, as move decks often include smaller cards like Iron Fist, which you might not want to place. Scream decks, on the other hand, typically manipulate your opponent's cards rather than your own.

Despite these limitations, there are affordable ways to move Redwing using cards like Madame Web or Cloak, making it accessible even to players with lower Collection Levels. Redwing can potentially secure surprising victories by enabling early plays like Galactus or by pulling high-power cards like The Infinaut into play.

Best Day One Redwing Decks in Marvel Snap

Following the dominance of Ares and Surtur in the last season, a new Scream-based deck emerges, incorporating Redwing. This deck aims to leverage power from cards like Aero and disrupt opponents with Heimdall. Although Redwing fits into this strategy, it's overshadowed by the necessity of playing Surtur on turn 3. Here's the deck list:

  • Hydra Bob
  • Scream
  • Kraven
  • Captain America
  • Redwing
  • Polaris
  • Surtur
  • Ares
  • Cull Obsidian
  • Aero
  • Heimdall
  • Magneto

This list is notably expensive, featuring multiple Series 5 cards including Hydra Bob, Scream, Redwing, Surtur, Ares, and Cull Obsidian. If you don't have Hydra Bob, alternatives like Rocket Raccoon or Iceman can suffice, but the other cards are crucial. The strategy involves playing Surtur on turn 3, followed by high-power cards to boost Surtur's power, with an alternative win condition of stealing power using Scream. The deck includes several 'push' cards like Polaris, Aero, and Magneto, and Redwing can be combined with Heimdall to both buff Surtur and pull a high-power card from your hand.

Another potential home for Redwing is in an Ongoing deck featuring Madame Web, particularly after Dagger's nerf diminished move decks. Here's a possible deck:

  • Ant-Man
  • Madame Web
  • Psylocke
  • Sam Wilson
  • Captain America
  • Luke Cage
  • Captain America
  • Redwing
  • Doom 2099
  • Iron Lad
  • Blue Marvel
  • Doctor Doom
  • Spectrum

This deck includes two Series 5 cards: Madame Web and Doom 2099. While Madame Web is not essential, removing her would also necessitate removing Redwing, replacing them with another Ongoing card like Mobius M. Mobius. The primary focus is on using Doom 2099 to spread power across all locations. Madame Web assists by repositioning Doom 2099 bots and moving Sam Wilson's shield. Redwing can be played with Madame Web to pull a card from your hand on the next turn. On turn 6, you would aim to play either Doctor Doom or Spectrum to either spread or spike power for a win.

Is Redwing Worth Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector's Tokens?

Currently, Redwing is not recommended for investment with Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector's Tokens. It is considered underpowered and fits into an underutilized archetype. Players are advised to save their resources for more impactful cards available later in the month or in future updates, unless Redwing receives a significant buff from the developers.
