Inspired by the Arthurian legends, Tides of Annihilation casts players as Gwendolyn, a young woman fighting alongside spectral knights to save her family and mend a fractured world. The game unfolds in a ravaged, modern-day London, overrun by a mysterious otherworldly invasion. Hordes of enemies swarm the streets, forcing Gwendolyn and her team into desperate battles. A key challenge lies in confronting colossal, roaming knight-like creatures, requiring players to scale and engage them in intense, close-quarters combat.

While visually stunning, the game’s narrative unfortunately lacks a compelling, unique hook. Recent successful Souls-like games have cleverly adapted lesser-known stories—Journey to the West and Pinocchio in Lies of P—offering fresh perspectives. However, the King Arthur legend, while rich, feels over-saturated, preventing Tides of Annihilation from fully capitalizing on its visual strengths.
