S Tier

S-tier characters in *Tekken 8* are those with exceptional balance, often considered "broken" due to their powerful offensive and defensive capabilities.
Dragunov quickly rose to S-tier status post-launch. Despite nerfs through various patches, his frame data and mix-ups remain challenging to counter, making him a "meta" choice. Feng boasts impressive offensive prowess with fast, low attacks and strong counter-hit abilities, keeping opponents guessing. Jin, the protagonist, is versatile and easy to pick up, with deadly combos and the devil gene mechanics that allow him to dominate at any range. His high skill ceiling rewards dedicated practice. King excels in grab attacks, with his chain throws dominating close-range combat. Law is hard to counter due to his strong poking game and agility, while Nina offers complex mechanics and high damage output, though she requires significant practice to master.
A Tier

A-tier characters are less challenging to learn than S-tier but still formidable, providing effective counters and unique play styles.
Alisa is an easy-to-learn android with great low attacks and pressure tactics. Asuka is perfect for beginners, offering good defensive options and easy combos. Claudio becomes a force to be reckoned with once his Starburst state is activated. Hwoarang has complex stances and combos suitable for both new and veteran players. Jun can heal using her heat smash and has strong mix-ups, requiring careful management of her stances. Kazuya rewards players with a solid understanding of *Tekken 8* fundamentals, offering versatile combat and high damage potential. Kuma surprised many at the 2024 *Tekken 8* World Tournament with his strong defense and unpredictable movements. Lars excels in speed and mobility, perfect for evasion and applying wall pressure. Lee has an impressive poking game and agility, ideal for offensive players. Leo offers strong mix-ups and relatively safe moves, making it hard for opponents to anticipate attacks. Lili uses acrobatic moves to create unpredictable combos, with few defensive weaknesses. Raven leverages speed and versatility for stealthy and punishing attacks. Shaheen has a steep learning curve but offers unbreakable combos and great range. Victor adapts to various fighting styles with his technological moves, making him a fun and dangerous choice. Xiaoyu is nearly impossible to pin down due to her mobility and adaptability. Yoshimitsu is tactical with health siphoning and teleportation, perfect for long matches. Zafina requires learning her three stances to master her mix-ups and stage control.
B Tier

B-tier characters are fun to play but can be easily exploited, requiring practice to handle higher-tier opponents effectively.
Bryan has high damage output and pressure, but his slow speed and lack of gimmicks are notable drawbacks. Eddy was initially considered broken due to his fast attacks, but players have learned to counter him, exposing his weaknesses in pressure and cornering. Jack-8 is ideal for newcomers with decent long-range attacks and strong throws. Leroy has seen diminished effectiveness due to game updates, making him easier to pressure. Paul can deal serious damage quickly, though his lack of agility limits his versatility. Reina is fun but lacks defensive abilities, making her vulnerable to higher-level play. Steve requires practice and can be predictable, but his aggressive style appeals to certain players.
C Tier

Panda sits at the bottom of our tier list, primarily because she performs the same moves as Kuma but less effectively. Her limited range, predictable movement, and difficulty in executing combos make her the least favorable choice in the roster.
*Tekken 8* is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
