Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Join Call of Duty
Activision has unveiled a new crossover event for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone, bringing back the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This isn't the first time these heroes have graced an Activision shooter.
While specifics regarding the collaboration's content and launch date (described only as "soon") remain undisclosed by Activision, the CODWarfareForum website has leaked some unconfirmed details.
Reportedly, the crossover will feature operator skins for all four turtles (though notably absent are April O'Neil, Master Splinter, and Shredder). New melee weapons are also anticipated: skateboard, katana, nunchucks, and bo staff. The Grind map, a skatepark, is expected to be a central location for the crossover events.
Despite the announcement, fan reaction has been lukewarm. This isn't due to a lack of popularity for the TMNT franchise, but rather stems from the current troubled state of Black Ops Cold War. The game's significant issues with bugs and cheaters have severely impacted its player base, leading many to view this collaboration as a somewhat desperate attempt to revitalize interest during a period of crisis. The long-term success and duration of this crossover remain uncertain.
