SwitchArcade Round-Up: ‘Pizza Tower’, ‘Castlevania Dominus Collection’, Plus Today’s Other Releases and Sales
Hello, fellow gamers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for August 28th, 2024! Yesterday's presentation was packed with exciting announcements, wasn't it? Several games even saw surprise releases! This usually quiet Wednesday is anything but, and that's excellent news. We've got news, a look at today's eShop additions, and the usual sales updates. Let's dive in!
News
Partner/Indie World Showcase: A Bounty of Games
Nintendo's decision to combine two smaller showcases proved a smart move, delivering a wave of announcements. Highlights include several surprise releases (detailed below), Capcom Fighting Collection 2, the Suikoden I & II remasters, Yakuza Kiwami, Tetris Effect: Connected, MySims, Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition, new Atelier and Rune Factory titles, and much more. Watch the video for the full rundown – it's worth your time!
Select New Releases
Castlevania Dominus Collection ($24.99)

A third Castlevania compilation joins the fray, courtesy of a surprise Direct announcement. This collection features the three Nintendo DS titles: Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia. It also includes the infamous arcade game, Haunted Castle, along with an M2-developed remake that significantly improves upon the original. This is a high-quality release with excellent emulation and features, offering exceptional value.
Pizza Tower ($19.99)

This Wario Land-inspired platformer sprints onto the Switch as another surprise release. Conquer five massive floors of the Pizza Tower to save your restaurant. Fans of Wario's handheld adventures will love this, but even those without a strong Wario connection should find its frantic platforming appealing. A review is planned.
Goat Simulator 3 ($29.99)

The surprise releases continue! It's Goat Simulator 3 – chaotic goat antics in an open world. Performance on the Switch is uncertain, as even more powerful systems have faced challenges. Buyer beware, but the game's inherent absurdity might make any performance issues part of the charm.
Peglin ($19.99)

While it might seem obvious, EA missed a huge opportunity by not bringing PopCap games to the Switch. Peglin scratches that Peggle itch perfectly. A turn-based RPG roguelite with Peggle mechanics, this mobile hit now shines on the Switch. A review is forthcoming.
Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story ($20.00)

Kairosoft's shop simulation formula gets a Doraemon makeover. This standard Kairosoft sim features characters from the popular manga and anime series, with a charming effort to capture the source material's essence. Fans of the series, and of Kairosoft games, will likely enjoy this.
Pico Park 2 ($8.99)

More Pico Park for fans of the original. Up to eight players can enjoy local or online multiplayer puzzle-solving. A great option for those who enjoyed the first game, though it doesn't offer much new for newcomers.
Kamitsubaki City Ensemble ($3.99)

An affordable rhythm game featuring Kamitsubaki Studio music. Simple, but enjoyable for its price.
SokoPenguin ($4.99)

A Sokoban-style puzzle game with a penguin protagonist. One hundred levels of crate-pushing await.
Q2 Humanity ($6.80)

Over three hundred quirky physics-based puzzles. Utilize character abilities and drawing mechanics to solve problems, with up to four-player local and online multiplayer.
