Superman's Kiss with Lois Lane Sparks Controversy in India After Censorship

The DC film Superman faced censorship in India, where a "sensual visual" depicting the superhero kissing Lois Lane was removed to secure theatrical clearance. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the mid-air kiss between Superman and Lois Lane—previously seen in trailers—was among two kissing sequences edited out for the Indian release.
The 33-second cut, spanning two scenes, was trimmed to obtain a U/A 13+ certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The decision aligns with the board’s guidelines on content suitable for younger audiences.
