Stellar Blade's Festive Holiday Update: A Cozy Christmas in Xion
Stellar Blade is decking the halls (and Xion) for the holidays with a new event launching December 17th. This update brings festive cheer, new outfits, and a fun mini-game. Let's dive into the details.
New Holiday Outfits and Customization
Get into the holiday spirit with brand-new Christmas-themed costumes for Eve, Adam, and even the Drone! The lineup includes:
- Santa Dress (Eve)
- Rudolph Pack (Drone)
- I’m No Santa (Adam)
Eve's festive look can be further customized with a Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.
A Festive Xion and Mini-Game Fun
Xion transforms into a winter wonderland, adorned with warm lights and festive decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve's camp also receive a holiday makeover, complete with seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away") to enhance the festive atmosphere.
A new mini-game adds to the fun. While details are scarce, it involves targeting a holiday-themed drone for special rewards.
Control Your Seasonal Content
The update introduces an option to manage seasonal content, including the Nier:Automata DLC, within the game's settings under "Gameplay" -> "Seasonal Event Content." Choose from:
- Auto: Automatically enables/disables seasonal content based on the season.
- Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
- Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.
Note: Changing this setting requires a game restart from the most recent save.
Mixed Reception: A Festive Debate
While many fans are excited, some question the frequency of event updates in a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The need to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content is also a point of contention.
