Today, *Star Wars Outlaws* received its first story expansion with the launch of the *A Pirate’s Fortune* DLC, now available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The expansion's star attraction is none other than the beloved rogue, Hondo Ohnaka. This Weequay pirate, known from the Darth Maul comics and *Star Wars: The Clone Wars* animated series, is the driving force behind this new content, according to Drew Rechner, Creative Director at Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment.

Rechner shared with IGN, "We always knew because there were so many passionate people on the team that we needed to feature Hondo. And, you know, that scoundrel fantasy of Kay mixing with the pirate fantasy of Hondo, it just kind of makes sense, right?" The addition of Hondo not only aligns with the team's enthusiasm but also enriches the narrative as protagonist Kay Vess explores her leadership skills, with Hondo possibly acting as a mentor—or perhaps not quite.

The *A Pirate’s Fortune* DLC introduces a new storyline involving the Rokana Raiders crime gang and the Miyuki Trade League, which can provide upgrades for Kay's Trailblazer ship. Additionally, players can enjoy a new blaster capability called Shock, adding fresh gameplay mechanics to the mix.

In other news, *Star Wars Outlaws* is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4. While Rechner kept details under wraps regarding new features for this platform, he hinted at more information to come. "In terms of a specific feature set, that's something that we will get into later. So we'll have more stuff to talk about later." Potential enhancements for the Switch 2 version could include utilizing the console's unique controllers as a mouse and integrating a new GameChat capability.
