Star Wars: Hunters, despite not even reaching its first birthday, is set to celebrate its one-year anniversary before shutting down its servers on October 1st, 2025. But is there truly cause for celebration for a game ending its run so prematurely?

When Will Star Wars: Hunters Shut Down?

The official shutdown date is October 1st, 2025, a mere nine months after its initial launch. Players will have a few extra weeks to complete Season 5, ending April 15th.

Zynga, the developer and publisher, will release a final content update on April 15th, introducing a new Support Hunter, Tuya, for free. In-game purchases will be disabled on the same day.

Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers close, and seasonal events will be rerun. Players are advised to spend any remaining Crystals as no refunds will be offered.

A Predictable Outcome?

While unfortunate, the shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters may not have been entirely surprising. Initial delays, limited console support, and a muted reception all contributed to its demise. The game, first announced in 2020, faced multiple postponements and limited beta testing in SEA and ANZAC regions.

The game's design choices also seem questionable. Instead of leveraging the iconic characters of the Star Wars universe, it opted for generic original characters, potentially missing a significant opportunity.

For those who uninstalled but wish a final playthrough, Star Wars: Hunters remains available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown.
