Romancing SaGa Re:universe Global Server Closure Announced

The global version of Romancing SaGa Re:universe will officially cease operations on December 2nd, 2024. While this may come as a surprise to some, the Japanese version will continue running.

Two Months Remain

With the December shutdown looming, in-app purchases of jewels and Google Play Points exchanges have already been discontinued following the September 29th, 2024 maintenance.

Launched in June 2020, the global server's four-year run is concluding. Despite its impressive visuals, soundtrack, and generous gacha mechanics, the game received mixed player feedback. Unlike its successful Japanese counterpart, the global version struggled to maintain a large player base, largely due to missing significant content updates such as the Solistia region and 6-star unit upgrades – content available in Japan for almost a year. This content disparity contributed to player attrition.

Community Feedback

Square Enix, the developer, has already closed several other titles in 2024, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile games.

Romancing SaGa Re:universe, a turn-based RPG inspired by the classic SaGa series, offers players two months to enjoy its remaining content. Those unfamiliar with the game can download it from the Google Play Store.
