"Mid-March, we announced that Space Marine 3 had begun development and we’re excited to see your enthusiasm, although we hear those of you who fear for Space Marine 2 and its future support," the statement read. They emphasized that Space Marine 3's development does not signal the end of Space Marine 2, with no team shifts and a firm commitment to delivering more content.

The roadmap for Space Marine 2's first year remains intact, with Patch 7 slated for mid-April. Moreover, fans have much to look forward to in the coming months, including the introduction of a new class, new PvE operations, and new melee weapons. The companies hinted at undisclosed surprises, adding to the anticipation. "Trust us, there are surprises even dataminers haven’t found out about :)" the statement playfully teased.

While Space Marine 3 is in its early stages and years away from release, the enthusiasm from the community has been a significant motivator for the team. "Many of you were very excited for this project and this makes us incredibly happy and motivated. Thank you for the unwavering support," the developers expressed.

The spotlight, however, remains on Space Marine 2's new content, particularly the new class, speculated to be either the Apothecary, akin to a medic class, or the Librarian, promising warp-powered abilities. Given Space Marine 2's success, the move to develop Space Marine 3 was anticipated. In an interview with IGN post-launch, Saber Interactive's Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, hinted at potential story DLC and floated ideas for Space Marine 3. Without revealing spoilers, he suggested that the narrative could continue, with IGN reporting on the likely enemy faction to appear in the sequel. "Our game director Dmitry Grigorenko, he has proposed some story ideas that could either be DLC or a sequel," Willits shared, highlighting the vast potential of different factions and chapters within the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
