Secret Lair, known for its direct-to-consumer releases by Wizards of the Coast, offers fans collectible cards outside the traditional randomized pack system, making each release a must-have for collectors and players alike.

The Turbo Gear drop features six existing Magic cards reimagined with Sonic-inspired artwork and renamed to reflect the high-speed world of Mobius. Completing the set is a custom token card. The selection includes Commander fan favorites such as Swiftfoot Boots and Lightning Greaves—a natural fit, given Sonic’s iconic footwear. Also included is the legendary vehicle Weatherlight, rethemed here as Tornado, Sonic's Biplane. Thanks to a recent rules update, this vehicle can even serve as your Commander, opening up fresh deck-building possibilities for fans of the format.

While details on that drop remain under wraps, the product description hints at powerful combinations—such as equipping Knuckles’s Gloves (a reimagined The Reaver Cleaver) to a Knuckles-themed Commander. This approach mirrors past crossovers like the 2023 Tomb Raider release, where reprinted cards were carefully chosen to complement new legendary creatures, effectively serving as a “build-your-own Commander deck” starter experience.

The Turbo Gear Secret Lair, along with the two other Sonic-themed drops, will be available for purchase starting July 14 at 9 a.m. PT exclusively on the official Secret Lair website. Pricing is set at $29.99 for the non-foil edition and $39.99 for the foil version.
