Sonic Rumble announces a special pre-launch crossover event

Though the worldwide launch remains weeks away (scheduled for May 8th), Sonic Rumble is already preparing for its first crossover event. In an interesting twist, this collaboration features iconic SEGA characters rather than external IPs - bringing together legendary figures from the company's rich gaming history!

The unique pre-release event begins today for players in soft launch regions, running through May 7th. During this period, all participants can claim the Werewolf character - a nod to the classic Altered Beast arcade game - completely free of charge.

SEGA Star Event Pass subscribers will gain access to additional premium content, including the Weredragon (another Altered Beast homage) and Opa-Opa, SEGA's original mascot from the beloved Fantasy Zone shooter series.

The roster expands further with characters available through in-game shops: Upa-Upa (Fantasy Zone) and Werebear (Altered Beast) can be purchased with earned Rings, while Super Monkey Ball's AiAi and MeeMee require premium Red Star Rings.

While pre-release events remain uncommon in mobile gaming, this strategic move offers early adopters exclusive content access. According to SEGA representatives, this marks just the beginning of an ambitious crossover roadmap planned for Sonic Rumble's lifecycle.
