Serial Cleaner, the quirky crime-scene cleanup puzzler, is making a comeback! Remember the 2019 release? This time, it's hitting mobile. But will it be a revamped and improved experience, or simply a port? Only time will tell.

The game plunges you into the gritty, yet cartoonish, 1970s. Think urban decay, stylish gangs, and maybe even a few cinematic clichés thrown in for good measure. You play as Bob Leaner, a professional crime-scene cleaner with the unenviable task of disposing of bodies, cleaning up blood, and erasing all evidence of mob violence – all while dodging the police.

Our 2019 review described the original as "half-baked but with potential." Developer Plug-In Digital is now self-publishing this mobile version, suggesting a chance for improvement.

A Fresh Coat of Paint?

Pre-registration is open, with a February 11th, 2025 release date. While significant changes aren't guaranteed, given the mixed reception of the original, a polished re-release would be welcome. However, the considerable time lapse since the initial launch makes this a hopeful, rather than certain, expectation.

The core concept remains compelling, but a simple mobile port dampens my initial excitement. Nevertheless, Android users who missed out, or iOS users experiencing compatibility issues, might consider this an early holiday gift.
