Sonic Rumble is making waves even before its global launch, as it introduces its first crossover event, dubbed Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This exciting event is live now and will run until May 7th, just before the game's worldwide release on May 8th. Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is accessible in over 40 countries and has already seen two pre-launch phases. The first phase took place in the summer of 2024 in regions including the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia. The second phase expanded to countries such as Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, and South Africa.

What's in Store?

If you're in one of the regions where Sonic Rumble soft-launched last year, you can jump into the SEGA Stars crossover event. Fans of Altered Beast will be thrilled to see the return of the Werewolf transformation, which you can grab for free. Nostalgic for the beast modes? You can also unlock the Werebear and Weredragon, though their availability depends on your payment method. The Weredragon is exclusive to the Premium Pass, while the Werebear might be available for purchase with regular rings.

Fantasy Zone enthusiasts will appreciate the addition of Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa to the roster. Opa-Opa is part of the Premium Pass, whereas Upa-Upa can be obtained through fragments purchased with standard rings, each costing 700 rings.

Super Monkey Ball fans won't be left out, as AiAi and MeeMee join the crossover. To get AiAi, you'll need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. You can catch a glimpse of the crossover event in the video below.

Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover

During the event, you can collect SEGA logos in matches to earn additional rewards. Although it might seem odd for the event to be live before the global release, SEGA has assured fans that most of these pre-release rewards will return later.

This first crossover event showcases a delightful dive into SEGA's rich history, blending characters from various iconic franchises with Sonic and his friends. From monkeys and sentient arcade ships to muscular were-creatures, this mix makes Sonic Rumble look incredibly promising.
