In an insightful interview with Collider, Mazin explained that attempting to conclude the narrative within a third season would be an overwhelming task. He noted, "Season 3 itself 'would take forever'" to complete the story arc effectively. Despite a "decent chance" that Season 3 might extend beyond the length of Season 2, Mazin firmly believes that "there’s no way to complete this narrative in a third season."
Mazin expressed hope and confidence in the series' future, stating, "Hopefully, we’ll earn our keep enough to come back and finish it in a fourth. That’s the most likely outcome."
