As part of the Dell Memorial Day Sale, multiple configurations of both the Alienware 16 Area-51 and Alienware 18 Area-51 are now available for the first time ever. Each model is equipped with the latest Nvidia Blackwell GPUs, ranging from the RTX 5070 Ti to the RTX 5090, ensuring top-tier performance.

Memorial Day Alienware 18 Area-51 Deals

The Alienware 18 Area-51 is designed as a mobile desktop replacement rather than a portable commuter’s laptop. Weighing close to 10 pounds and measuring 0.95 inches at its thinnest point, it demands a stable workspace. With a 360W power brick included, it’s best used while plugged in. Its larger form factor offers several advantages, such as an expansive 18-inch display, a full-sized keyboard with a discrete numpad, superior cooling, and enough room for an RJ45 Ethernet port.

Currently, two models are discounted for Memorial Day. The $3,150 model features RTX 5080 mobile graphics and 32GB of memory. The $3,750 model ups the ante with RTX 5090 mobile graphics and 64GB of memory.

Memorial Day Alienware 16 Area-51 Deals

Though smaller than the 18-inch variant, the Alienware 16 Area-51 remains a premium gaming laptop focused on raw power and cooling. It weighs 7.5 pounds and measures 0.85 inches thick at its thinnest point. Like the 18-inch version, it comes with a 360W power brick and performs best when plugged in. Despite its compact size, it houses a 16-inch display, a standard laptop keyboard, and robust cooling to accommodate powerful internals like an Intel Core Ultra 9 HX processor and up to an Nvidia RTX 5090 GPU.

Four models are discounted for Memorial Day. The $2,850 model includes RTX 5070 Ti mobile graphics. The $2,999.99 and $3,150 models feature RTX 5080 GPUs. The $3,650 model tops out with RTX 5090 graphics.

CPU/GPU Performance

The Alienware Area-51 also sports a highly capable CPU. The Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX boasts a max turbo frequency of 5.4GHz with 24 cores and 40MB of total L2 cache. According to Passmark, this processor rivals the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D in speed. Notebookcheck notes that the RTX 5070 Ti mobile GPU closely matches the RTX 4080 in performance, while the RTX 5070 falls slightly behind the RTX 4070. Both GPUs should handle games comfortably at the display’s native 1920x1200 resolution.
