Marvel Rivals Unveils Season 1's Sanctum Sanctorum Map: A First Look
Season 1 of Marvel Rivals, "Eternal Night Falls," launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, introduces a thrilling new map: the Sanctum Sanctorum. This iconic location will host the game's newest mode, Doom Match, a chaotic free-for-all pitting 8-12 players against each other, with the top half emerging victorious.
This isn't the only addition to the game's map roster. Midtown Manhattan will serve as the backdrop for a new convoy mission, promising intense street battles. Central Park, while shrouded in mystery, is slated for a mid-season update.
The Sanctum Sanctorum itself is a visual spectacle, blending opulent décor with the bizarre. A recently released video showcases floating kitchenware, a curious cephalopod emerging from the refrigerator, winding staircases, levitating bookshelves, and powerful mystical artifacts. Even a portrait of Doctor Strange himself graces the walls, alongside a surprise appearance of Wong! Fans have lauded the developers' attention to detail, even down to Doctor Strange's ghostly canine companion, Bats.
The season's narrative centers around Dracula's sinister plot against Doctor Strange, leaving the Fantastic Four to defend New York City. Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman debut with Season 1, while the Human Torch and The Thing join the fray in the mid-season update.
