Genshin Impact Leak Hints at Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4

A recent leak suggests Wriothesley's return to Genshin Impact's event banners in Version 5.4, ending a wait of over a year. This news comes amidst ongoing concerns about the game's banner scheduling, made challenging by the large roster of over 90 playable characters and limited rerun slots. With roughly 43 limited 5-star characters vying for roughly 27 available banner spots annually, a fair rerun system remains elusive.

While the Chronicled Banner aimed to address this, it's viewed by many as a temporary solution, as evidenced by Shenhe's extended wait time. Until triple banners become a reality, extended gaps between character reruns are likely to persist.

Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, is a prime example of this issue. His absence from event banners since November 8, 2023, has left many players eager for his return. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, indicates this will happen in Version 5.4. This is further supported by the recent Spiral Abyss buff, which benefits Wriothesley's gameplay.

However, caution is warranted. Flying Flame's track record on Natlan leaks is inconsistent. While their prediction of a new Chronicled Banner in Version 5.3 proved accurate, other leaks have been inaccurate.

Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first standard banner character. If Mizuki and Wriothesley share an event banner, the other banner might feature either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive a rerun within the established Archon rerun sequence. Version 5.4's release is projected for February 12, 2025.
