Hiromi Wakai, Sony's VP of Product Management, announced a new PS5 beta update introducing personalized 3D audio profiles, improved Remote Play controls, and adaptive controller charging.

The personalized 3D audio feature allows users to tailor audio settings to their hearing, creating a more immersive gaming experience using compatible devices like the Pulse Elite headset or Pulse Explore earbuds. Sound quality tests generate a custom audio profile.

The updated Remote Play settings provide enhanced control over remote access to the PS5, particularly beneficial for households with multiple users. Access can be managed via [Settings] > [System] > [Remote Play] > [Enable Remote Play].

Adaptive charging for controllers (on the slim PS5 model) optimizes power usage in rest mode by adjusting charging based on battery level. This is enabled through [Settings] > [System] > [Power Saving] > [Features Available in Rest Mode] > [Supply Power to USB Ports] > [Adaptive].

Beta Program and Global Rollout

Currently, the beta is limited to invited participants in select regions (U.S., Canada, Japan, U.K., Germany, and France), with a global release planned in the coming months.
