How Does Split Fiction’s Friend’s Pass Work?

One of the standout features of Split Fiction is its strict co-op requirement. There's no solo mode; you must team up with a friend to dive into this adventure. Thanks to cross-platform compatibility, you can even play with friends on different systems.

To play online with a friend, have them download the free “Split Fiction - Friend’s Pass” from their platform’s digital store on March 6. Once you send them an invite, they can join you in the game at no additional cost. This system mirrors what Hazelight did with It Takes Two and A Way Out. What Is Split Fiction?

Split Fiction is an action-packed two-player adventure where you and a partner control two writers—one crafting sci-fi, the other fantasy—who are pulled into their own stories. Together, you’ll battle enemies and solve puzzles across levels inspired by their genres. Imagine racing on Tron-style bikes over gravity plates one moment, then transforming into mythical beings in a magical forest the next.

The game also features portals to "side stories"—mini-games that add variety to your journey. From riding a "sand fish" across a desert reminiscent of Dune to water skiing behind a drone over the ocean, these side quests promise fun diversions.
