HP's 2025 Omen Max 16 with RTX 5080 Opens Preorders
HP has officially opened preorders for its highly anticipated 2025 Omen Max 16 gaming laptop. This powerhouse is set to feature the newest top-tier hardware, such as the forthcoming Intel Core Ultra 9 HX-series processor and the GeForce RTX 5080 mobile GPU. Shipments are projected to begin around March 13. The Omen Max 16 is expected to become HP's new flagship gaming model, sold alongside the standard Omen and the slim Omen Transcend lines.

The launch edition HP Omen Max 16 will be an Intel-based machine. Its base configuration includes the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, a processor engineered for higher performance compared to the efficiency-focused Core Ultra 9 185H. Additional specifications comprise a 16-inch QHD+ 240Hz display, 32GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB M.2 SSD, all for $2,699.99. This price is roughly $500 lower than the upcoming Razer Blade 16 with similar hardware.
When will the laptop start shipping?
HP projects that the Omen Max 16 will begin shipping in early to mid-March, just a few weeks from now. Since the RTX 50-series mobile GPUs have not officially launched, performance benchmarks are not yet available.
