Kyurem's Dual Forms Arrive

Following the December 2024 announcement, Niantic has confirmed the arrival of Black Kyurem, White Kyurem, and Shiny Meloetta for the February 2025 Unova Tour. In-person event attendees in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Los Angeles, USA (February 21-23, 2025) can participate in five-star raids to catch Kyurem and then fuse it.

Kyurem Fusion:

Fusion unlocks powerful new moves: Freeze Shock (Black Kyurem) and Ice Burn (White Kyurem). Here's what you need:

• Black Kyurem: 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Zekrom Candy
• White Kyurem: 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Reshiram Candy

Fusion Energy is earned by defeating Black or White Kyurem in raids. Reversion to the base form is free. Increased Shiny rates for Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom are also in effect.

A global event (March 1-2, 2025) – Pokémon GO Tour: Unova – Global – offers free access to these features for all players.

Meloetta's Shiny Debut

Shiny Meloetta appears for the first time! In-person event ticket holders can complete a Masterwork Research to encounter it. This research doesn't expire, allowing for flexible completion.

Unova's Legendary Trio and Beyond

Kyurem, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Meloetta originally appeared in Pokémon Black and White, the fifth generation. Black and White 2 introduced Kyurem's alternate forms, mirroring their Pokémon GO counterparts' move sets. This limited-time event brings the complete Unova experience to Pokémon GO.
