Pokemon GO Fest 2025 Dates and Locations Announced

On January 6, 2025, Niantic announced the much-anticipated dates and locations for Pokémon GO Fest 2025. This three-day extravaganza will take place across three vibrant cities on different dates. Here's where and when you can join the festivities:

⚫︎ Osaka, Japan: May 29 - June 1
⚫︎ Jersey City, New Jersey, USA: June 6 - June 8
⚫︎ Paris, France: June 13 - June 15

More details about the event are slated to be revealed in March. Niantic has also reminded players that "upcoming events are subject to change," but rest assured, we'll keep you in the loop with any updates.

Annual Global Event for Pokemon GO Players

Pokémon GO Fest is a global celebration that brings trainers together for exclusive items, unique gameplay, and special bonuses. Whether you're participating virtually or attending in-person events in various cities, a ticket is required. In-person events offer a unique experience as you explore the hosting city.

The highlight of Pokémon GO Fest is the chance to encounter rare Pokémon not typically available in regular gameplay. For example, the 2024 event introduced Dusk Mane Necrozma, Dawn Wings Necrozma, and Marshadow. Additionally, certain Pokémon have a higher chance of appearing in their Shiny forms, distributed across different habitats within the hosting city.

For those attending in-person, exclusive merchandise, habitat-themed sets, and community hubs await. Team lounges provide a space for trainers to connect and share their experiences. While specifics for the 2025 event are still forthcoming, expect a similar thrilling experience to previous years.

Two More Pokemon Events For January Announced

In addition to Pokémon GO Fest 2025, Niantic has announced two exciting events for January: Fashion Week: Taken Over and Shadow Raid Day.

During Fashion Week: Taken Over, players can rescue Shadow Palkia from Team GO Rocket and Giovanni. Shroodle and Grafaiai will make their debut, available through 12 km Eggs. Other Shadow Pokémon like Snivy and Tepig will also appear, and you might even encounter a fashionably dressed Croagunk when taking a snapshot.

Shadow Raid Day offers the chance to battle and catch Shadow Ho-Oh in Five-Star Shadow Raids. A $5 USD ticket grants eight additional Raid Passes, an increased chance of obtaining Rare Candy XL, double Stardust, and a 50% XP boost from Raid Battles. Shiny Ho-Oh encounters are more likely, and lucky trainers can teach their Ho-Oh the signature move, Sacred Fire, using a Charged TM.
