Bloomberg reported on November 25th that Sony is actively developing a new portable console designed to allow players to enjoy PlayStation 5 games on the go. This new handheld is reportedly an evolution of the PlayStation Portal, released last year. While the Portal offered PS5 game streaming, its reception was mixed. A device capable of running PS5 games natively would significantly enhance appeal, especially considering recent PS5 price increases.
Sony's history with handhelds includes the popular PlayStation Portable (PSP) and the well-received PS Vita. However, neither could surpass Nintendo's dominance. This new venture suggests a renewed commitment to the portable gaming market.
